Further Questions

This brings the question, how did the revelations during this period have an impact on future periods? How do they vary from the past? How great was the change between the Meiji time period, when compared to others?

Conclusion

Overall, there is a lot to be gained from taking a look and considering what exactly a modern woman during the Meiji time period entailed. Although the Meiji time period may sometimes be forgotten, or brushed over when it comes to the development of women’s rights, it is not to say that there were none. This is seen through attempts to educate more women, as well as more, overall opportunities. However, many of the developments that took place benefitted middle class women, and more than not hurt lower-class girls and women. Though the push for education was strong, there were many problems with the functioning of the factories, and the pain many factory girls had to go through, if not die from.
